When you purchase the download version of Galedor, your payment is processed through PayPal -- an internationally recognized company which has set the standard for sending and recieving payments through the Internet. You do not have to have a PayPal account in order to use the service, and PayPal uses the latest security technology to process your payment. Afer your payment is recieved, you will be returned to a page on this web site and you will be given permission to download the electronic book.

IS MY PRINT PURCHASE SECURE?

YES! The Print version is produced and sold by Lulu Publishers. When you click to purchase the print version you will be taken to the Lulu web site. If you are not a member, you will be asked to create a user name and password (there is no cost associated with this process). After you have done this, you will be logged in, and you will continue with the purchase process through Lulu Publishing. Lulu also uses the worldwide standard of SSL technology to protect your payment information.

TELL ME ABOUT THE PRINT BOOK

The physical book is published by Lulu Publishers. It is 6x9 (a common size found in bookstores). It has a glossy softcover and it is 317 pages long. For more information, click on the link at left (the picture under "Physical Book Version").

HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?

There is no cost for "shipping" the electronic version, of course. When you order the print version, Lulu Publishers will give you a variety of different options ranging from media mail (around $2.45) all the way up to more expensive express delivery options.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO GET THE PRINTED BOOK I ORDERED?

That depends upon the shipping options you selected from Lulu Publishing. Check your order by logging in at www.Lulu.com.

HOW DOES THE DOWNLOAD (ELECTRONIC) VERSION WORK?

First, you download the book by saving it to your hard drive. Next, locate the saved version and double-click the file -- the book opens! The Electronic Edition is actually a "self-executing file" - that is, a very small computer-program. The book "runs" itself so you do not need any additional software.

When you first download the book, you will only be allowed to read the first twenty pages. After you purchase it, you will recieve a "key" via email. Follow the instructions in the email to install your key (don't worry, it is a very quick and simple process!) and immediately you will be able to read the whole book.

ONCE I DOWNLOAD THE BOOK, CAN I MAKE COPIES OF IT?

Galedor is protected by United States Copyright. We will take action against unauthorized copying and/or distrubiting. However, you may feel free to place a copy on any computer or PDA you own. Additionally, you may print out a copy for your own reading convenience.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PRINT THE DOWNLOAD VERSION?

Move your mouse over the top left-hand portion of the book. A printer icon will appear. Click on it, and a print dialog box appears. We have found the best results in printing if you select a "landscape" orientation for your printed page.

WHAT COMPUTER PROGRAM DO I NEED TO READ THE DOWNLOAD VERSION?

You do not need any additional software. The Electronic Edition is actually a tiny self-contained program in itself. Once you download the book, you have all you need.

I PURCHASED THE DOWNLOAD VERSION. WHEN WILL I GET MY "KEY"?

Your key will be emailed within 24 hours. Currently, generating and emailing the key must be done manually by Spring Creek Publications, which is why we cannot promise immediate response. We hope to automate this process in the near future.

WHY DOES MY COMPUTER WARN ME ABOUT THE DOWNLOAD VERSION?

When you download the Electronic Edition of Galedor, you are actually downloading a mini-program. Chances are, you computer hasn't seen this particular type of program in the past, and so it warns you that you might be getting a virus (or some equally distasteful thing). Don't worry, all you are getting is a great book!

WHEN I TRY TO LOAD MY KEY, WINDOWS ASKS ME IF IT IS OK TO ADD SOMETHING TO THE WINDOWS REGISTRY. IS IT?

Indeed it is. The "key" you recieve when you purchase the book will register itself with Windows in order to make the entire book available. If you do not allow it to make this registry entry, your book will still be locked after twenty pages.

HOW DO I NAVIGATE THROUGH THE ELECTRONIC (DOWNLOAD) VERSION?

Move your mouse all around the surface of the book. You will see various "hidden" icons pop up when you do so. Click on the scroll bar at right to advance many pages at a time. Click on the "turned corner" of the lower right or left page to turn forward and back; or if you prefer, turn the pages by tapping the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard. The "X" in the top right corner closes your book, but your place will be automatically saved --like a bookmark in a physical book. On the top left you will find icons for moving to the beginning and printing.

To navigate through the Print Version, simply turn the pages...

WHY DOESN'T THE "PLAIN-JANE" PREVIEW WORK ON MY COMPUTER?

If the smaller file, "plain-jane" preview doesn't work correctly on your computer, it is probably because you do not have a registered copy of Microsoft Word on your machine. We suggest that you download the regular Electronic Edition. One of the great advantages to this format is that the software required to read the book comes right along with the book itself. And it really doesn't take that long to download, even on a 52K connection.
